this was probably the most moving afternoon during my trip to japan. it was one of our free afternoons, and i was wandering around the city by myself. it started raining just as i entered an empty buddhist temple. i wandered through to the back, and found the hillside beyond was a graveyard. i walked through it for over 2 hours, alone with the rain, just thinking about everything i'd seen in the past week and about my own experiences.
